Behind the Headers: Above the trees

© 2012 Andrew Leggett

This shot was taken through a perspex window in the floor of a gondola, in Whistler, BC in Canada.  It was taken in October, before ski season.  The resort gondolas travel between mountain tops, but only one has the viewing window so we had to wait in line for it to arrive, but it was worth it.

The perspex softens the shot, but I like the unique perspective. From a distance, the picture is an abstract representation of shapes and shades. I enjoy pictures that present every day objects from an unusual point of view, and often look for a different angle when taking photos.

This was processed with Picasa to increase contrast, saturation and sharpness to compensate for the effect of taking the shot through a thick plastic window.

Camera: Canon 7D

Lens: Canon 24-70mm f2.8L at 70mm.
